Why is my mother trying to change me?

My mom has changed a lot over the years. We used to be on the poor side and never had much...but a few years ago, she started dating an extremely wealthy guy and now she is different. She only cares about wearing the best clothes, has to get her hair and nails done all the time...very materalistic. Even my sister is like that now. But I'm not. I'm still laid back. Quiet. Shy. Wear causal clothes. My hair is dark but she wants me to dye it blonde. I don't want blonde hair. She is also trying to get me to dress up. I don't want to. She keeps trying to set me up with rich frat boys. I don't like them. She wants me to be more outgoing and talkative. That's not who I am. Why is she trying to change me? Is her behavior normal for parents? Should I be who I want to be?
