Any had any luck training their dog not to mark while on walks?

you need to control the dog on your walk or run.. start if barely any slack and keep the dog right next to you.. if it pulls to go mark, dont let it, keep it in line with you.. i would suggest watching one episode of dog whisperer.. its on all the time, just check your tv times.. one every episode he walks the dog and shows you how to keep the lead when you walk your dog.. even if you dont believe in his training techniques, his dog walking techniques are flawless!
