Blood test results...is it a relapse?
I used to test positive for Hep B antigen and antibody (surface) then they said i was only showing antibody then they said i had cleared the Hep B from my system completely after 10 + yrs. of chronic infection. My enzyme levels returned to normal. Now two weeks ago I had a bunch of blood tests because of some severe pain in my right upper quadrant of my abdomen front to back and swollen lymph nodes (5 months now) It showed that I had 4 times the normal liver enzyme ( both ALT and AST ) levels and elevated lymphocyte levels (mildly) and very low platelet count. I have been suffering from chronic diarrhea and fatigue for more than 10 years now with occasional bouts of jaundice, abdominal pain in both upper quads and nausea. Help I am worried because they are sending me to an internist and I want to be prepared since I know they don't always tell you everything. Could I have never really cleared the Hep or is there other possible causes for these symptoms?
