How long in a relationship should I wait until engaging in and intimacy?

Hey I am a 16 year old female and my boyfriend is 17. Although friends for a year now, we just started dating about 6 days ago, so it's been almost a week. Although I am not a virgin, he still is, so I presume that he isn't going to be about right away. But then again he is 17, so he probably wants to have pretty bad. I have had feelings for him for awhile, and I am absolutely ecstatic that we are together, so I want to keep him around. He's a very sweet boy, but I want to give it a bit of time. I know to wait at LEAST a month or two. I will never be the one to bring it up as a subject between us, so I will wait for him too when he is eventually ready. Now, hypothetically speaking, if he were to say something a bit earlier than a month, or maybe even slightly after, should I except or just wait? What would you say is the best decision to make in terms of keeping a long term relationship such as this one. And also, if I do make him wait a bit and then eventually give in after awhile, is it likely he will fall in love with me? Because I am able and more than willing to allow myself to fall inlove with him, but I don't want too if it's not likely he will fall for me as well.
